We value artists coming together to explore their passions through retreats, workshops, and exhibitions. Our goal is to create a supportive, inspiring environment where your own dream to create has room to grow.
What you’ll experience
- Live at Big Blue in a lovingly appointed bedroom
- Create at the Schoolhouse (shared and independent studio spaces)
- Work outdoors—coastline, sky, and quiet that actually stays quiet
- Gallery energy—monthly exhibitions and small workshops downstairs

$1,550 CAD / Single Artist Occupancy

Arrive: Saturday (after 3:00 PM) • Depart: second following Friday (by noon) • Stay: 13 nights
Accommodations
A few glimpses of where you’ll live, work, and settle into a slower rhythm during your time at Big Blue. Each space is designed to support focused work, shared practice, and the everyday rituals that make time away feel grounded and productive.
Deposit & meals
- $500 Deposit is required to secure your retreat space
- Final payment is due one month before arrival
- A small welcoming basket is provided on arrival. All other meals are on your own (local restaurants nearby)
- Shared kitchenette + Bathroom
The campus
Located on Nova Scotia’s Acadian Shore in Belliveau Cove, Art’s Haven offers coastal surroundings and water views in a beautifully restored creative setting: Big Blue Gallery on the first floor with retreat accommodations above, and the Schoolhouse studio just a short walk away.
How to apply for your Art Retreat
Applications are submitted through our registration page. We ask each applicant to provide a short statement of their art interest so we can understand your practice and how you hope to activate your studio life while at Big Blue.
